2019

2019 REUNION

Our 2019 Reunion took place in Baltimore MD from Thursday, June 27 to Saturday , June 29.

On Thursday, we all arrived at (insert hotel name). Thurday night was for the executives and the early birds......It was also a night of fun, laughter, catching up, and much more.

We spent time at the Suyaspot, a new joint owned by a Nigerian, serving delicious food and drinks as well as our popular Nigerian Suya delicacy.

On Friday, in the morning, we took part in a community service by donating food and household supplies to Salaam center. This center serves displaced Middle Eastern refugees who are trying to make a new home in Maryland and start their lives over.

In the afternoon, we had a general meeting with everyone from Nigeria, London and worldwide.  We also had an election of officers where only members in good standing were able to vote.

After the general meeting, we had a tea party get together where we had the opportunity to listen to a couple of professionals talk to us about mental health, and how to take care of our bodies.

In the evening, we had a costume themed welcome party. People dressed in costumes, wore wigs and face masks and we danced the night away to tunes from old and new.

On Saturday morning, we went on a tour of the African American museum in Washington DC. Our dress code was Dashiki top over jeans. Very memorable experience. On our way back, we stopped to take pictures at the White House.

The evening events started at 7 p.m. with picture taking on the red carpet against the beautiful backdrop highlighting various businesses that supported our reunion. Cocktail hour started at 8 p.m. and the main event Gala Fundraising Ball started at 9 p.m.
